Hi there just a quick question Ive just got my Gainwood 295 GTX and my Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 + my Creative X-Fi Champion edition gaming soundcard all of them are just fantastic but I feel like I might be slightly lagging behind because of my motherboard

I've got the Abit IP35 Pro with 4 gig ram now can anyone recommend me a great motherboard that will take my setup with open arms :bounce: oh and supports DDR3 ram :ange:

I love my new setup I really do and I adore my motherboard but I've always thought this motherboard was no good for Multi GPU or sli?

thanks for the quick reply btw :)

Welcome to the forums!

Do not worry about changing your motherboard or 'upgrading' to DDR3 RAM.
You will see no performance increase from such upgrades.

You are, however, somewhat correct about your P35's weak multi GPU support.
While it does support CrossFire, though not SLI, it does so with one card running at 16x and the second running at 4x.
This is less than ideal and will greatly bottleneck your Cf performance.

Luckily for you, the GTX 295 is a single card running off a single PCIe slot.
All the SLI 'magic' happens directly on the card and is not influenced by the motherboard.

If you feel you need a boost in performance, drop on an aftermarket CPU cooler and start overclocking :D

There is no point to change you motherboard.
I have q6600 3.7GHz , GIGABYTE p35(PCI-E 1.1v) , GTX295OC (Drivers 182.50/vista64)
and in Vantage i get 22208 (GPU 19245, CPU 41271)

You both have made me feel alot better :p I kept thinking its a single card SLi doesnt even come into the equation but Multi GPU what if some how it did? lol was getting really confused...Now the other thing is why is my card getting a poor score oO check the vantage score out

My CPU thrashes the i7 I was jumping for joy at that....and amazed haha but my Graphics card seems to be lacking badly compared to the other pc ( My PSU by the way is 700w OCZ Ive got a enermax 1000w sitting behind me think I should test that? and see if it helps it at all? or even whack in the 8800 GTX ULTRA as the physics card?

Yeah, fastest system = modded and highly overclocked on LN2.
You do not have anything to worry about in that regard.

My general rule of thumb is to ignore the synthetic benchmarks.
As you can not play 3d mark, why get into a frenzy over it?
As long as you are happy with your in game performance, leave it at that ;)
