Win Vista sound system to xp

Windows vista & 7 have separate sound volume for each application. Can I make windows xp have the same system?

Is that really necessary ? No it cannot do that unless it's an external plugin or 3rd party app..

Yes it is. What about universal audio architecture? The way that vista & 7 manage the sound is different from xp's. What plugins or apps? Is there any other way?

Google for universal audio architecture for xp, see if you get anything or audio manager for xp. Might even find something in XP tweaks.
