hey i have galaxy 9800GT low power version bought it 2 years before

PROBLEM: recently it stopped working. when i was watching video on youtube the screen froze up and i had to restart the computer then when computer started again on bios screen red dots were appearing and when i loged into windows screen showed light red vertical lines. when i removed the card card and attached the to the motherboard VGA port everything works perfect.

Tests:in the device manager it is detecting card as 9800GT but it is showing the error as "windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems"

also GPU-Z is detecting the video card but showing all clocks as 0MHz

speedfan is also not showing the temperature of the GPU

evga precision is showing "not supported hardware detected"

want to mention that i had overclocked the core clock 650MHz from 550MHz and
memory clock from 900MHz to 1000MHz

QUESTION: so i want to ask you experts what can be the problem ? is the card burned?

will this be covered in warraty ?

i am planning to upgrade my computer in june and get gtx 560 and use 9800 as physX card

waiting for your suggetions thanks in advance

- if the system is in a state of overclocking then you first have to clear cmos
- at this point you try loading the GPU heatsink, replace the new thermal paste and clean the fan from dust.
- Put back, turn on the computer then you will get the default system
- uninstall all the drivers GPU, other overclocking software.
- re-install the original VGA drivers from CD
- after all doing well you can update the drivers

but i think that removing the heatsink will void warranty, right?

does only removing and replacing the heatsink restores the factory settings?

or if i give it to authorized service center and if their is any other problem will they give replacement ?

You overclocked a "green" card and now want someone else to pay for it? OCing voids warranties. Man up and buy a new card.

Your vga have artifacts it will be damaged due to overclock. And usual overclock warranty will be rejected, and how many years do you have
vga warranty??
and if you want to upgrade graphics
card customized with other hardware system's ability
to avoid bottlenecks.
and most importantly the watt psu enough supply power the new vga
