Just simple question. If not - is there a cheap card that can add it? I have the pci-express slot (additional hd sound) and slot 1 (gpu) occupied - although the 2nd slot (non-express) isnt very accessible with 6970 sitting there.

p6x58d have Intel ICH10R controller and MarvellĀ® 9128 PCIe SATA 6Gb/s controller

I think 9128 support PM ware, but you have to have a BASE BIOS, not RAID (I can be wrong)

Then just use SATA to eSATA bracket then you can access to 10x drives - provide that you have 9128 configure as BASE BIOS

Otherwise use this:

Yea I would just be using base bios - non-raid. Raid seems to be much more of a problem then its worth unless enterprise use.
