[HELP] Improve Internet speed

How do i bring out my Internets true potential, i am paying for 20megs from qwest, now centurylink, i get it through the phone jack into the modem, the modem is a ZyXEL PK5000Z. i can never download anything faster then 2 mbps ever, Speedtest.net says im get just over 15mbps but its wrong somehow, obviously there got to be something im doing wrong...

Are you sure your fastest downloads are not 2MBps (16Mbps), not 2Mbps?

Also, you will not be able to max out your connection from most servers because they are serving many clients or they limit the download speed. I have 10Mbps cable and I rarely get faster that 5Mbps downloads, but I can easily max it out by downloading several files from different servers.
