Slow down RAM to achieve the ratio?

I've got an i7 860 @ 3.2Ghz (160Mhz, x20, QPI: 2560Mhz) and 4GB of DDR3 RAM @ 1600Mhz. CPU-Z says my FSB:DRAM ratio is 2:10 right now. If I slow down my RAM to 1333Mhz, will I maintain the same speed while putting less stress on my RAM?

Also, is there a limit to how high I can safely put the QPI link?

I'm now set at 140Mhz with the multiplier going up to 26x with turbo boost. The QPI link is 2520Mhz, and the RAM is at 1400Mhz with timings of 6-6-6-18. Unfortunately, the ratio is still 2:10. I don't get how it finds this ratio.

I was under the impression that if the FSB:RAM ratio is uneven, the RAM may be clocked down without a performance change. That is why I lowered the RAM speeds and tightened the timings to 1400Mhz and 6-6-6-18. Was I wrong to do this?

I've got the BCLK=140Mz, 21x multiplier, turbo and HT on, and the QPI link of 2520Mhz. What is my ideal RAM speed to meet the ratio?
