Quick Motherboard Question

Solution
The MB supports AM2/AM2+ CPUs. As long as the 4400 X2 is socket AM2 and the BIOS supports the CPU. There is an older AMD 4400 X2 socket 939 CPU which is not compatible with an AM2 MB.

It will do fine..as the compatibility issue, but maybe u will get something better quality and future proof board.Think of some future painless upgrade? With a few more bucks add u can get some better investment for the future and for the safety of the investment. Get some Gigabyte or Asus board. On paper, with newer chip-sets there is no compatibility issue for the older AMD cpus. And u have tons of better choices under 50$-75$ price tag. And do a proper research on max TDP supported as this AMD Athlon have a TDP 89W or 65W,depends on stepping an die tech.process. U better get something with support for 125W for successful future upgrade.

I don't have to purchase the motherboard because I have this board out of an old rig that I upgaded to AM3 awhile back. I just have these to part laying around and want to check to see if they would work together before I tried them in a system that I will be recieving in a couple days to upgrade. I plan to spend the least amount of money that I have to. This rig is for an older couple that just needs Internet. Thank you for all of your replys. The socket is AM2 so thank you, you people helped make some others really happy!
