PSU: Corsair Powersupply 750W Black, ATX/EPS, 140mm Fan, 8xSATA, SLI

My OS is: Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 3 black edition (pirate downloaded) (<----- Can this cause it?)

My problem is the Graphic card, its running rather slow in games and such, in The Sims 3 (weird or not) I have to run it on rather low reso in additional having minor lag, this is the case of other games as well.

I do not know whats wrong with the Graphic Card, I had great expectations for the card. I have been surfing on google and read from other people who also have the card running slow, I have no idea tho what could be wrong. Any help is appreciated!

More about radeon 4870x2 running slow
  1. the grahpics card don't like runiing at low res, it perks at full HD or more strange but rather true :O

    I found that out
  2. Thanks for the advice, tho this doesn't help me, the problem (the laggs) occurs when I run the res at full, and running the desktop res at full doesn't get me anywhere;/

    Any other help is appreciated.
  3. Why don't you try 3Mark06? If you get below average score for your setup, then you know it's the settings for the card and not the just the game.
  4. I have already done that and my score is about 1 k below the "Common System" And I feel I should have a bit more then that.
  5. It sounds like no driver is installed for the graphicks card at all.
Thats really the only thing i can think that could cause a 4870x2 to perform that low...
  6. and btw without hte display driver it won't use the second core ethoir

    Are you serious?
Without drivers installed you will not be enabling to run any 3D application.
  8. vista have basic 3D drivers built in/xp and don't use prited version and you didn't say that :o
  9. A pirate download??? Get the real thing.
If you wanted to spread some malware, what better way than within a pirated os?

Windows-7 release candidate is free for the next year. Plan on buying a legitimate copy. Pre-order now a w7 upgrade for $50.
  10. EDITED: Nonsence post, best to remove that.

    ;-)
  11. I think you should buy a genuine version of windows or get win 7 than try your X2 out on that, win 7 is free at this point
  12. FFS with the FUD victims goddamnit:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt

Pirated OS'es DO NOT(i repeat) DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO with other problems....pirated Xp is just XP release with a serial. If the OP didn't download it from www.getyourmalwarehere.com and dl it from a decent torrent site+the comments below the dl didnt mention anything about the virus, then the OS part is perfectl fine.
  13. I returned the card and bough a GTX 295 instead, I recommend it!

I had so many problems with the 4870x2 and it did run slow in games. The GTX 295 is it!
