ATI Radeon HD 4870x2 running rather slow!

Two weeks ago I ordered and put together my own computer.

Here are my components:

Soundcard: Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer, PCI, Retail

Disc reader: Sony NEC Optiarc Blu-Ray reader BR-5100S, Black, SATA, DVD

HD: Western Digital Caviar GP 750GB SATA2 16MB IntelliPower

Grap card: XFX Radeon HD 4870X2 2GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0, 2xDVI-I, HDMI, HDCP, 750/3600MHz

RAM: Corsair TWIN2X PC6400C4DHX DDR2 4GB KIT, Kit w/2x 2GB XMS2-6400 dimm's, CL4-4-4-12, 800MHz, DHX

CPU: Intel Core(tm) 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz, Socket LGA775, 6MB, 1333Mhz, BOXED w/fan

Mobo: Asus P5E WS PRO, X38, Socket-775, DDR2, ATX, GbLAN, Firewire, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16

PSU: Corsair Powersupply 750W Black, ATX/EPS, 140mm Fan, 8xSATA, SLI

My OS is: Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 3 black edition (pirate downloaded) (<----- Can this cause it?)



My problem is the Graphic card, its running rather slow in games and such, in The Sims 3 (weird or not) I have to run it on rather low reso in additional having minor lag, this is the case of other games as well.

I do not know whats wrong with the Graphic Card, I had great expectations for the card. I have been surfing on google and read from other people who also have the card running slow, I have no idea tho what could be wrong. Any help is appreciated!

Why don't you try 3Mark06? If you get below average score for your setup, then you know it's the settings for the card and not the just the game.

It sounds like no driver is installed for the graphicks card at all.
Thats really the only thing i can think that could cause a 4870x2 to perform that low...

Are you serious?
Without drivers installed you will not be enabling to run any 3D application.

vista have basic 3D drivers built in/xp and don't use prited version and you didn't say that

If you wanted to spread some malware, what better way than within a pirated os?

Windows-7 release candidate is free for the next year. Plan on buying a legitimate copy. Pre-order now a w7 upgrade for $50.

Pirated OS'es DO NOT(i repeat) DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO with other problems....pirated Xp is just XP release with a serial.If the OP didn't download it from www.getyourmalwarehere.com and dl it from a decent torrent site+the comments below the dl didnt mention anything about the virus,then the OS part is perfectl fine.
