I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a failed hard drive. Would I be able to use a SSD (Soldi State Drive ) to upgrade the unit and increase performance

Solution
If your mobo has SATA ports, sure your can, but except for killer load OS times, applications and game you won't see any other difference.

IF you want to use (upgrade) SSD HD, search in Ebay, there's a CD/DVD secondary IDE to SATA
convert board built-in inside this CD/DVD cover to insert to Dell 6000 DVD/CD RW slot.
Good luck-Tom
