Printer is ignoring me

I have an old P4 system I reformatted a few months ago. It's running XP and everything works fine, except this last install wiped out my old HP Deskjet printer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it 3 or 4 times, but no print. It will print a test page, but that's it. Device manager doesn't have any warning flags. Any ideas?

Try updating the printer's drivers rather than reinstalling them. You may want to also try reinstalling the USB drivers from the motherboard CD (or updating them).

The last two times I used drivers I downloaded from HP's website. I'm guessing USB driver's for my old Intel MB are no longer available (I think it's from 2002 or so). Strange thing is when I first installed XP on this computer, it worked fine.
