Is LGA775 HSF compatible with LGA1156? I want to get a aftermarket cooler for 1156 socket, but I can't find any out there now.

its not compatible. and there are quite few 1156 coolers: arctic cooling, scythe, thermalright, thermaltake, xigmatek...

wait a few weeks and that 775 coolder of yours will have a mounting bracket you can buy to fit it on 1156.
