HDD Wipe

Hello-
I just used Eraser and the drive wipe feature on CCleaner to totally wipe a Seagate 160GB Barracuda 7200 SATA drive. When I look at the properties, it tells me there is approx. 250MB still on the drive. Could someone please explain this to me please?

How many partitions are on the drive? It sounds like there is more than one and you only erased one partition.

Thanks Hawkeye22- I'm not sure, but now that you mentioned it, I'm thinking there was a D: partition on there, too. Any special instructions on how to get rid of it?

If you are planning on installing another OS on it, you will normally have the option to delete/create partitions.

You can alo try the ultimate boot cd. It has utilities for managing partitions.

OK, thanks!...That's just what my intentions are- to install my XP Pro on that drive as my OS is all screwed up on this present drive. Having problems with HKCU and HKLM recognizing some important keys and dword data from a couple of programs and their internal functions.
