Bought a P5Q SE (P45) a while back, slotted in an E5200 and overclocked to 3.6GHz. That had a large multiplier mind. Now I've got a Q9400 and it's running at 3.3GHz with a arctic freezer pro, (410*8). However, although my CPU temps are fine at idle and load (30/50) HWMonitor tells me that SYSTIN is at 80C (175F) and I'm slightly worried. I attached a little fan to it but it doesn't appear to have had much of an effect. What's safe for this kind of mobo? I haven't overvolted the NB or anything, its still at auto in the BIOS. I tried to use one of those laser thermometers but that just said 49C but that's the temp of the heatsink. The rooms pretty cold so not sure what to think.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Tim

EDIT Just felt the top of the NB heatsink and it doesn't feel warm to the touch. The 49C was measured at the bottom. Very confused as to why the NB heatsink doesn't feel hot if HWMonitor says 80C
