Ever google search turns up gobs of conflicting information on overclocking the i7 920. I have this chip with
EVGA x58 E758-TR
6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz
2x XFX Radeon HD4870 1GB
Corsair 750watt PSU
DarkKnight aftermarket CPU cooler.

I simply stepped up the QPI to attain a stable 3770MHz. The box runs great and this is the ONLY setting I have changed; no RAM frequencies/voltages, or CPU voltages or anything.

Is this perfectly safe/effective? If not, what should I change?

Also, should I start stepping up the memory frequency now?

Thanks in advance.

How do you like the Cosair Dominator RAM ??? I'm thinking of picking that for my i7 920 build I'm working on. Also I know thats off topic but I just figured I'd go ahead and ask ya anyways since Techmo answered you :)

I have had this system built for less than 24 hours, but so far so good. Fantastically faster than my OCed Pentium D 805 system. I will let you know how the memory fairs after I get my overclocking tweaked correctly.
