Since the purchased of this unit around 1 year ago, I have experienced
an
intermittent loss of the audio signal but no effect to the picture.
Though
nothing serious, it is annoying....some days more so than others.
I had read on the net some time ago that there would be an upgrade
sent via
DTV (I have the phone line attached) to address this problem.
Does anyone know if this is just to be expected or if this is still an
unaddressed issue with this particular unit? Any known fix or advice
to
problem resolution would be greatly appreciated.

Tim:
I have an HD-300 and lightning struck a tree near the house. I couldn't
recieve any DTV signals, but could recieve off the air signals which
come in on my regular antenna (signal goes through the HD-300) . I
called the Sony service number in the manual and they went through some
trouble shooting and concluded that the unit needed to be sent in. They
found the unit was not sending any voltage back to the dish. They
repaired it no cost since it happened few a days after the warranty
expired (1 year).
