I need to upgrade my Gateway818GM computer, with a AMD Athlon(tm)64 processor 3700 with Hyper transport technology. can I upgrad, and if so, where do I go to upgrade?

I don't understand what you are asking. What do you want to upgrade? a piece of hardware? the entire computer? the cpu?

reading again, I guess I wasn't too, clear. I want to know if it is possible to upgrade my processor. I ordered more memory, which will give me 2G. Now what can be done to help speed?

Your system is an old socket 754 which is obsolete at this point. Other than adding more memory, which you are already doing, there is nothing else to do for it.
