Is the Xigmatek Dark Knight worth it?

I am currently running a AMD Phenom II X4 955 at 3.4GHZ @1.125V, on a gigabyte 890xa-ud3, with 8gb gskill ripjaw 1600 8-9-8-22, and a Zalman 9500a cooler. My max load temp it about 50C and when I played around with 3.8GHZ @stock 1.25V it touched 60C inside of a Lancool PC-K7B case. I was looking at the egg today and saw the Xigmatek DK was on sale for $33, (and a card reader which i could use).
Would this upgrade be worth while? Thanks

  1. In my opinion, it would be esp at 33 bucks. That 9500a is quite an old cooler, not that its awful but there have a been a lot of improvements in air cooling since it came out.

Your temps seem a little high. What sort of cooling do you have in your case?
  2. Case cooling is 2 front intakes 1 rear exhaust +exhaust through PSU.

    Front fans:(1)-stock Lian li. (1)-Scythe S-Flex SFF21G

    Rear fan:(1)Scythe S-Flex SFF21G + PSU
  3. Dont know why the emoticons came up...
  4. Or would it be better to use a Scythe Mugen 2. I also have a Thermaltake Element T that I could throw everything into if it would be better cooling.
  5. From what i've ever read there's no difference performance wise between a Dark Knight and the Balder.
Save some dough if you like.

Either one is a good cooler at Newegg's current pricing.
