external usb hard drive not showing in my computer it showing in my compuet managemaent

hi jim_l9, i am having this same issue. when i plug in the usb external, nothing happens. i checked computer management and it isnt there. also, doesnt show under devide manager either (hdd/portablehdd).

help!
