Here's the link: GA-M57SLI-S4. It says that the board supports Phenom II processors up to 95W, but it doesn't say anything about Athlon II processors.. Will athlon II X4 work?

I am asking because I can buy the mbo for only 30$..

Even the newest 790/785 series boards just added AthlonII support in September and October of this year - they'll likely get around to it, but who knows when?

According to the gigabyte site, the latest bios (except the beta) was released in 2008. Not sure if it would support new Athlon II CPUs. You could try using the beta bios but again, the risks is there. If you are upgrading with this old board then you should try it first. But if this is a new build then I suggest getting a more recent motherboard that will surely support your choice of CPU.
