OS reads...Windows NT...is this normal?

I've been having some problems updating my graphics card driver and I've been trying to figure out what the reason for it is...recently I did a diagnostic via another program and it read my OS as: Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 where I have XP service pack 3...is this normal? Sorry if it is a noob question I'm just at the end of my rope trying to figure out why my MSI GTX 460 wont update past v 259.33...(Fails on every install attempt of newer drivers).

Yes, Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 are all based on the NT lineage.
