Hi all,

Today I bought a Gigabyte o55-ud4 mainbaord and a I7 860.
Its all set up fine running ram at 1333 9,9,9,24 at 1.6 volts specified.

The weird thing is im using latest Z-CPU and it rarely drops under Core speed 3.3ghz, (stock is 2.8ghz). Isnt it meant to be like 1.2ghz when idle to save power, not stay at its max turbo mode. Just strange. i haven't even seen it at stock speeds yet or under 3.3ghz.

If i could figure out how to put my zcpu pictures on this i would sorry

When the 860 is idle is it ment to say about 1.4 ghz in z cpu. Is there some feature to turn on or off to make this happen? its still just max running at 3.3 pritty much.

Cheers, here it is. As you can see nothing happening but turbo mode is at 3.3ghz. From what i know it should be running at nothing

No I asked why on idle its till runs at 3.4ghz. From what i can see frm eveiws its ment to down clck itself to about 1.2ghz to save power or something.

I have noticed it only runs at 3.5ghz on single thread and idle, but the core voltage stays at 0.8volts and goe to 1. under load. If it uses more then 1 core it goes to 2.9ghz at 1.2volts. So i dont think running at 3.4ghz at .8 volts hurts it anyway. Amazing system
