I have two computers i want to upgrade. the first computer is A
pesario S500T w/ ASUS P4SD-LA mobo
2.80 ghz
nvidia geforce fx5000 128mb video card agp 8x
1.50 gb of ram(just upgraded from 512mb)
200w power supply

I want to upgrade both the graphics card and the Processor. According to hp website the mobo can handle 3.2ghz
pentium 4ht. I search ebay and found some processors but most of them are used. can anbody provide a link where I can find new processors compatiable with this mother board. and how can i find out the max. graphics card it can handle.

my second computer, the motherboard went bad so im rebuilding from scratch. I already found the same exact mother board on ebay. and while im at it I'm going to find a new processor and graphics card for this as well.
This computer is
HP media center m7100y ASUS P5LP-LE mobo
2.80ghz dual core
nvidia geforce 6600 256mb
400w power supply

and according hp this mobo can handle the following processors

Core 2 Duo E6x00
Core 2 Duo E4x00
Pentium D 9x0 Dual Core
Pentium D 8xx Dual Core
Pentium 4 6x1 series
Celeron D 3xx series

any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

On the first computer, you are going to need to upgrade the PSU if you want to put a new video card.

For the second computer:

Core 2 Duo E6x00 is the fastest of the processors above.
You have a PCIe slot.
You could get a ATI HD3650 for it with that power supply.

You could get a Nvidia 9600 instead if you want with the 400W PSU.

thanks for your help. any advice on what processor I can get for the presario s500t.
