BUDGET RANGE: Would like to keep the price of parts under ~$1300
SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming > all other computer usage
PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com . Would consider other sites for a heatsink
OVERCLOCKING: Not going SLI / Xfire for the time being, possibly in the future
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 22" Samsung, 1680x1050
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Haven't picked out yet, but am looking for a CPU heatsink/fan as well. Plan on doing some overclocking, nothing overly extensive. Would like to "future-proof" it enough so that I can sink some upgrades into it within the next 2yrs or so
Any advice as to alternative parts would be great. Heatsink advice, as well as anything else relevant would help greatly. This is my 2nd pc build and I'll be upgrading from a Core2Duo Conroe.
If you're willing to raise the price as you said, then you might want to think about upping your gfx card to a 4890 for the ~10% performance boost now, overclocking headroom, and when you do upgrade to a CF config, you'll be a little more future proof.
If you're intent on extreme gaming and being future proof, then you really wont go wrong with a GTX285.
