sure hope its right, ive been holding off from upgrading to a 4870x2 for this!
suposedly with 2000 stream processors and all gddr5 ram, and they will also take the route of the x2 with two gpus on one pcb, sounds good!

yeah i know, it may be wishful thinking but it isnt the only place ive read that, and i heard amd only specified third quarter of 2009, and julys the beginning of that

Well, it seems as if everything didn't go as planned. July 4th and no new card.... Now I am sad.

They talk of an announcement to be made in September....


Many rumours suggest its launch will be tied in with Windows 7 release on Oct 22 for DX11 support (I imagine Vista gets its DX11 update at same time)

Considering the problems TSMC is having with 40mm fab, I will say RV800 either late this year or early 2010.

According to the latest, 40nm is back up, but, since it takes 6 weeks at the earliest from TSMC startup to actual card delivery to sellers, look towards Oct, possibly Sep at the earliest

September at best and that's if all goes as clockwork given the lead times involved what with an extra two weeks on what JDJ is saying for tweaking and bug testing/fixing.(I heard that it was actually 12 weeks from wafer to card in store) Anyway that's on track with the late sept release AMD stated which should be pretty close as it was made during a financial meeting apparently

Some designs are already in, such as the 4770, which will shorten lead times, but the others will take longer. Im saying best case scenario, usually 12 is safe

Yes, thank you Mr Obvious. Many threads bumped about this already today, current rumor is sometime late September.
