I'm going with the 920 because its cheaper then the rest and I can easily OC it. I already have a DVD/CD rom, keyboard, mouse, headset and monitor from my current computer that I can use in this build. My price range has a threshold of about +/-300. I will also most likely be using this computer for my programing needs as well.

What OS would y'all use? I currently run XP but am wondering if I should try out windows 7 with this machine....thoughts?

Hmm...3 months time frame, the whole world of hardware would change...intel is releasing its new i5 CPUs, maybe even AMD might release newer CPU, newer components,...So planning for the build prior to 3 months, would only put older parts in it by the time you start building it...

I understand that but I'm pricing the stuff now because if the newer stuff is anything like the everything else when it comes out, it will be way overpriced. I also don't see a reason to get the top of the line stuff (3 grand price rig) when like you put it, would be "outdated" in 3 months time. Plus I might sneak a couple parts in before September because I can hardly stand my current system....the only thing i can really play on it is CS:S :( lol. Also the prices of these components will drop slightly by the time i buy them which will allow me to save a little bit of money so I'm not going to complain if its not the best of the best when i'm done ;) .

Hmm...the i5 that intel would be releasing are for the mainstream market, so they would be priced cheaper than the i7 line...
And there are talks that the fastest i5 would replace the i7 920 because they fall in the same price range...and intel might discontinue the 920 by then as we can see that intel has released the newer revisions of the i7 940 and i7 965 as i7 950 and i7 975 but no replacement for the i7 920...
Hopefully they dont discontinue the 920...
And as for the graphics, keep your options open till the last minute because newer cards are expected and they will not only be for the high-end segment...

So the things you can plan are the CASE, PSU, CPU Cooler, and maybe the Harddisks and DVD drives...

And looking at you selection especially the PSU , it is way overkill for your setup...
A Corsair 750TX can handle GTX 275 SLI with an overclocked i7 easy...And if you still want little more headroom, then the 850W is max required...
The Corsair 1000HX is only required for say dual GTX 295 SLI...

As for the RAM, they are slow...Plan on getting DDR3 1600MHz above...preferrably with lower CAS - And by the time you buy, their prices would certainly drop...

The CPU cooler that you have chosen is way overpriced for the performance that it gives...
Get the TRUE eXtreme 1366 RT CPU cooler for that price...It is one of the best coolers for the i7...

The case is a very good one...If you want more spave, then you can look into the CM HAF Full tower...

And actually for your budget, you can get a very powerful PC with dual GTX275/ HD 4890 now...
