If my motherboard has a 256-bit graphic interface, can I use two, 256-bit, graphics cards?

Wait what your motherboard has a 256bit interface? What kind of motherboard do you have?

All your motherboard needs for sli is 2 pcie slots. (oh ya the cards have to be the same for nvidia but not with ati, which you can mix and match but i recommend using the same card)

If you have two PCI-E slots you can use two PCI-E video cards. If your board uses an nVidia or certified X58 chipset, then it can use SLI (provided you have two cards you can SLI). Non nVidia chipsets use crossfire.

You can use any PCIe card if you have a PCIe slot

when they say 512 bit or 256 bit cards, they're referring to the Video Memory, so that's independent of the bus (slot)
