So I'm planning on upgrading my pc. Will primarily be used for gaming.
Now I was wondering what needs upgrading, cause games aren't running as smoothly as I'd like them to. :(

Running on XP Pro SP2, 1920*1080

Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
MSI MS-7367
2x DDR2 1GB 400Mhz
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB

I would say new mobo and CPU, plus new RAM to match the mobo.

As for vid card, get another 4850 to run xfire.

more ram will help running at 800mhz, your board is out dated you could overclock a bit ,get a faster cpu or a new cpu,ram and board am3 class

Thanks for the quick replies!

I was thinking of getting either a Phenom II X4 945 or the 810.
Then for the mobo, I really have no idea yet. (suggestions are welcome)
One with DDR2 or DDR3? And is DDR3 worth the extra bucks?

Another 4850 will hurt my wallet a bit too much for now, but will probably get one in the near future.

i recomend the p2 x4 955 i just got 1 myself, im still using my odd ddr2 with it for now. ddr3 is not going to make a big differance

^agree. I think their was an article here on Toms that showed that the difference is not that much. Better to get high performance DDR2 800

Okay great, so DDR2 it is. And the 955 isn't that much more expensive, so will get that one too.
Just wondering what I need in a mobo, I'm not planning on OCing
So would the ASUS M4A78T-E be a good choice here?

Didn't see your reply there obsidian, so would the ASUS M4A79XTD EVO be a better choice?
