EVGA gtx 285 HC
EVGA gtx 280 FTW
SAPPHIRE 4850x2
MSI gtx 275 LIGHTNING EDITION
SAPPHIRE 4890 ATOMIC/ EVGA gtx 275 FTW
NVIDIA gtx 280

NVIDIA gts 250
ATI 4850/4770
NVIDIA 9800gt

I know its old but hey it was fun.

I must mention some more graphics card: EVGA new gtx card unknown yet but might top ASUS
ASUS matrix gtx 285 and 4890
Galaxy gtx 285 AC its cheap 349$ and granted is the most ocable 770/2800

wow man thx sooo much i've been searching for alot of time for someone to honestly say which graphic card is better and where does each one belong in the list. must have taken a lot of work from you. good work and keep it up. well i guess now i can just check your ranking instead of reading long boring reviews which would only compare a few. thx again

Not too bad actually.

9800gt shouldnt be on the list above the 4830. I think the 1ghz 4890's will be faster than any 275's also.

Ur right but we will just have to wait 4 its release and see.

i just realized that there's something wrong here , i bet if you have given this alittle more thinking you would have known that the EVGA GTX 280 HC is better than the EVGA GTX 280 FTW which you have OBVIOUSLY and completely missed or forgotten about , so my friend you're gonna have to replace it ... i'm sure anyone who reads this will agree with me , right poeple ? i mean it's obvious come on
July 1, 2009 11:45:57 PM

Basicly its the same. It has the same clocks but your right its better

some of the factory OC cards do come with better quality cooling...some don't

as the old saying goes, it pays to shop around
July 2, 2009 12:37:36 PM

Nice work dude.
Please if you can do the same chart but considering the price\performance ratio and then we will see if NVIDIA will stay in the same position in the chart.
You know not all the people are Billionaires that can afford buying the ASUS GTX 295 MARS, and I don't think that you "MO BEEJ" are one of them.
ATI is the best selling brand, so this chart is really nonsense for us "at least me".

July 2, 2009 4:29:21 PM

Thank you MO BEEJ. I googled graphic card rank and i saw urs, let me just say that u are one of the unbiased users at least so far. Keep up the good work. Oh and u miscounted 9800gx2 ;) .

Are u Fu..ing serious?!?! No really.. Cmon its a GRAPHIC CARD RANK. You cannot rank them by price.... because after 1-2 years the ASUS GTX 295 MARS will cost like 100 $. I hate newbies and noobs. I suggest you leave this forum. Judging by your comment you are a fanboy (ATI). Sure not everybody is a BILLIONAIR but some people can spent 200-400$ on graphics card. I think you are just plain stupid. IF u have a graphics card and judging by the way you think, i say you have one of these cards: 4770 or 4850 both are CHEAP and ATI. Fanboys.... jeez

Calm down fellow. While it was a silly request of Alaa there is no need for that ignorant tripe.

Price/perforamnce is a very valid consideration.. though impossible to include in a simple list. That is what the best graphics card for the money articles are for. Too much money is a value that is different for many people.. obviously it woudl be unwise to buy a card lower on a ranked list than a cheeper card... but to many it may be worth the price jump for a slightly higher on the list card.
July 2, 2009 4:50:01 PM

PC VETERAN thx but chillout man. Calm yourself.
And for Alaa's request sorry man it cant be done. Prises are not stable as performance as you've already noticed its a performance rank. What you request can only be done using 3DMARK which is just a regular benchmark. We have seen alot of graphics card show less performance on 3DMARK but in games they outperformed other cards. I will not buy a 295 MARS unless i get it for free ;) .

you do realize Toms does this at the end of each monthly "best video card for the money"

although they don't list manufactures, I would hardly trust a list from from an obvious noob
July 2, 2009 5:42:15 PM

Yea i do realize i mean its on the homepage ?!?!?

But its "best video card for the money" not just the best ;)
PPL plz this is just performance, pure performance.
July 2, 2009 5:43:38 PM

well well well , what have we here ? i KNEW there's someone stupid , dum or just plain ignorant will show up here i.e Alaa ... i think we all agree that alaa is the biggest noob here. why don't u do us all a favor and stfu and get out of here ? we're all discussing the most powerful graphics cards and YOU'RE here whining about PRICE/PERFORMANCE RATIO. go cry to your mommy. you know people i bet that if you even start discussing anything with alaa , it will end up with him saying " YES BUT ATI IS CHEAPER SO BETTER PRICE/PERFORMANCE RATIO" i just know it. and pc veteran i think it's more likely 4850 coz i think he liked the name better , you know a bigger number so must be a better card right :p  :D  ? hahahaha....
July 2, 2009 5:49:45 PM

Thanks for the update ;)

Sorry guys but i hate these type of ppl. You either liked it or not plain simple.

ALaa do your own thread and do this PRICE/PERFORMANCE but just as what ct1615
its on the main page on the WEB.
July 2, 2009 5:53:03 PM

LOL

Actually 4770 = 18
4850= 17
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Actually some ppl posted threads about the addition of numbers.
Like if add the numbers the higher wins. :D
So this makes the 7950 a winner HAHAHAH
July 2, 2009 9:45:17 PM

PC VETERAN you must calm down a little bit or you will explode and please if u want to say ur opinion dont disrespect others.

You might wanna take your own advice ya' FAQin n00b !!

Seriously, your first post and you're whining about n00bs and spewing Fanboi vitriol. [:mousemonkey:2]

Give your head a check. [:thegreatgrapeape:5]

Anywhoo, interesting list, but like many, subject to app and setting preferences. :)
July 2, 2009 11:37:04 PM

I don't see the need for a flamewar, he said it's for performance only. And the only comment I have about ATI-vs-NVIDIA is this: Although ATI/AMD can produce good graphics for the money, they still have not made a single card (X2's don't count) that can outperform the GTX285. It's the same thing with Intel vs AMD, AMD makes a good price/performance, but can't outdo Intel in pure performance.

Not fanboy'in or anything but that's how I see it. I have an Intel/Nvidia rig, and would do it again, but I also have an older 4600+ AMD rig, and just recommended and PII 940 for a friend because it offers more longevity at his price point.

Like beauty, GPU rankings are in the eye of the beholder (AKA, the person enjoying the graphics on the monitor). Myself, I prefer quality versus performance but of course I won't stand for below 40 fps. But beyond that, who cares between 60 fps and 90 fps?

In the tech reviews, there should be more emphasis on differences in the rendering quality and not just synthetic benhmarks or Crysis framerates.

I may be wrong, but wouldn't rendering all look the same? Same settings, same program etc, all that matters is how fast the GPU gets it there. I don't think different GPU's can render differently (quality wise), unless you count errors such as artifacting, but those are defects you can return the card for, not differences in rendering quality.
July 3, 2009 1:59:40 PM

Thanks guys.

There are SLIGHT or even MICRO difference between ati cards and nvidia but its not gonna show unless u r using a Telescope.

The list will get an update soon as the new generation of cards arrive.

And i am working on a new thread to help people choose a graphics card.
See u all soon ;)
July 3, 2009 2:01:03 PM

Alaa is that all? DAMN i must have messed u up real big. Sorry for that ;)  no really i am.

And for me being a noob, i just entered to congratulate MO BEEJ. But i .... well u have read what i wrote.

Its sooooo tough to endure PC customers ppl, some of u know that some of u dont. I was just angry.. sorry ;)

Customers keep whinning which is better which which which .... well now i can tell them to see this thread and put the blame on MO BEEJ LOL ;)

But again thanks to these threads and thanks to you ppl customers are getting better educated about all pc parts.

THX all. I am calm now but i would hate to see silly replys thx. PPL who post replys or make threads should either know what they r saying or asking for a help.

Best regards

Just replying to let you know, FYI, the value list is already composed by Cleeve, and posted essentially on a monthly basis on the main site in the Graphics section.

It used to be a sticky thread too, but for some reason the guys at BOM de-stickied alot of stuff.

Anywhoo, I don't think there's as much of a need for a best value, but go ahead and post your thoughts, always good to have multiple opinions/options out there.

:hello:

PS, Let me know if you wanna lock the thread.
