What is the reason for not getting dvd writer detected

I got my dvd writer repaired and plugged onto my computer and now none of the dvd roms that is the one I repaired and already existing is not getting detected on my bios as well my computer.

Please help me out.

Try one at a time and see whether the internal DVD works. If both are internal IDE drives, then ensure that the jumpers are correct.

Is it sata or ide?

You said you got the drive repaired - how/why? Are you sure it has been repaired - did you have the person who repaired it test it?

New DVD writers are like 30 bucks, you may be in for a new one.
