Do you have a case speaker connected so that you will hear the beep codes?

Reply to hunter315

i have my speakers plugged in but not sure about the case speaker.

Reply to gazzahazza

The case speaker is very different from your speakers, it is located within the case and connects to a two pin connector on the motherboard itself, if you do not have that connected you will not hear the beep codes.

do they have to be plugged in to hear the beeps?

will the beeps not sound from the speakers??

Reply to gazzahazza

Do you have the 4/8 pin cpu power plugged in? That's the most common oversight for what your experiencing.

what am i looking for the cpu power is 4/pin...

Reply to gazzahazza

The onboard sound is a significantly higher level function than the beep codes are, your onboard sound has not been initialize yet so no you will not get beep codes through your speakers. If you have other computers around see if you can scrounge a case speaker out of one of those.

So you have power plugged in there as well as the the 24-pin?

There is a link in the thread I posted about a way to buy a cheap motherboard speaker. We still need to know what motherboard this is, as well as the rest of the info.

Review pages 2-20 through 2-22 of your manual and make sure the jumpers and switches are set correctly.

If you have tried all the steps in the checklist, that's all I have for you.
