Solution ksiemb Nov 18, 2011 johnsond33 : On My Network Places, I can't open Properties. Also I can't open Network Connections in Control Panel. I'm running XP Pro. Is this caused by a virus? Try opening it from all possible sources: Control Panel, Windows Explorer, right-clicking on connection icon, etc. Go to start, run, type sfc /scannow (space before slash), and see if that fixes it. You may have to try a System Restore. And it never hurts to scan for infections.
