What is 'CPU Down Spreading'? I saw it in ASUS Bios settings.

I'm not sure about CPU Down Spreading specifically, but I know that spread spectrum clocking has to do with clock frequency energy distribution in order to minimize energy spikes. This is done via a loop that matches the frequency to a reference.

i also heard if you put to much paste on your cpu and it runs over its also called down spreading... go figure

I don't if it does any good if i enable/disable it.. There is another one, PCI down Spreading..

hm.... i never heard of these in the computer terms. i'll have to research on this.

can you give us what Asus Motherboard you have. This may help us understand what this is.

Well if this is what they mean, then down spreading is a technique used by manufactures to reduce EMI waves.
