thanks i think ill just bite the bullet and spend the extra cash and pat myself on the back down the road knowing ill be good on GPU performance for a while

One point, those coolers put a fair amount of heat into the case, if your case is small, crowded or has limited airflow this could cause heating issues.

I've got a 4870 and likin it a lot. But you need to be more precise when asking what to choose. What do you want from that gfx card? Do you want to max out at all games, or just want to play casually. Btw it would be best if you post your rig specs, it's easier that way for us to help.

So the newegg 100 4850 is the way to go for me. Now for my next question. I've heard of over heating problems with both cards. Should i upgrade the vga cooler? or will the stock saphire one suffice?
Also, isn't Circuit City bankrupt? That means you can't return any faulty products.
The Circuit City name was bought be Systemax which owns Tiger Direct and CompUSA. Just as they resurrected CompUSA as an online retailer after their bankruptcy, they did the same with Circuit City.
