I'm trying to get some files from an internal hdd onto a external hdd (via a laptop), so far it seems like things are going ok, however I was wondering where/how do you access files/folders on internal hdd if they have been saved on the windows desktop.

Your desktop (generally) is something like c:\documents and settings\(username)\desktop

You would just drag from your desktop to the external HD via windows explorer. If it's a different user, just drill down manually (assuming you have permissions)

Probably there's Desktop in sidebar menus just like there's My Computer etc. Desktop might be actually located in My Documents.

If I guessed wrong you can try google for the correct answer :)
