Hi, I built a basic gaming PC for my little brother to play around with. I found a MSI motherboard laying around and I used that to make it with.

Motherboard: MS-7046

I'm having troubles location drivers for it. I found a few pages on google, but its useless. Any help? It uses AC97 btw. So will any 97 driver do? Is there some sort of universal AC97 driver?

Thanks!

OK, I'm offically going to go insane! I've been trying for the past 2 days to find the drivers for this! I've lost count of the ammount of drivers I've downloaded, yet non work!

PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF MY INSANITY!! PLEASE HELP ME!

Edit - Ones I've tried so far:

1) CMI9880ChPI001 CMedia Azalia Audio Drivers v5.12.01.0008.50 (supposing correct ones for the MB)
2) Cmedia AC97 Mediarack 211
3) WDM_A383 Reltek AC97 Codec
3) And a bunch of AC97 random codecs...

If you can't find a driver for it, most likely there is none.

All you need is the original driver cd that came with the motherboard, if you don't have it you could post a request on this forum for people to upload an iso of the disc through rapidshare or some similar service or they could send you a copy of the disc.
Or you could look for a sound driver of another motherboard from the same manufacturer with the same chipset, chances are it'll work just fine.

A bit to late really, but thanks anyways. At the time the link was down, now it seems to work, but I have up. Plus, the link is not the one for this motherboard. This is an OEM motherboard that came with a custom sound card from MSI. So MSI does not claim this motherboard, I tried on there forums and they locked me out telling me to go look esle where. (what suckers right?)

I finnally went onto the Advent Forums and the Pacakrd Bell forums and found out that some generic company made the sound drivers for this, and that this board was nothing but trouble from day one anyways, that it has a lot of problems (which it did, it kept shutting down the PC randomly.)

So I scraped it. Can't deal with wastes of space.
