Hi,

I have an 8 yr old Compaq

Celeron 1.2 ghz
512 mb RAM SDRAM
40 gig Maxtor hdd
200 w psu

I was looking in the bios today and i found out that my computer boots from the cd drive, then the floppy drive and lastly, the HDD.

My question is, wouldn't my boot time be faster if i had it boot from the HDD first? or is there something i am missing?
I didn't find any other place to ask this so I came here.

Any replies are greatly appreciated
thanks

Yeah, having the HDD boot first will cut out the time that is currently spent by your floppy and CD drive looking for bootable media.

You just have to remember to change the setting or force the PC to boot from the floppy or CD if you ever need to do so.
