The front panel HD audio cable on my CM Storm Scout case just barely will reach the header block on my ASRock X58 Extreme mobo. But it's in the way of the expansion sockets. It's a 9-pin plug, five pins on each side with one pin blanked out. I tried NewEgg and called a local computer store. Anybody know where I can get an extension cable?

Here you go:

OOPS! That cable is for headphone and microphone only.

Here's the 10-pin version:

It has 10 cables. You can remove the appropriate cable. Here's a link with detailed instructions and photos showing how to remove remove and insert a cable:

EDIT - NOTE - I used that 10 pin extension cable 4 or 5 years ago. It's not the greatest extension cable inthe world. Follow the cables from one connector to the connector at the other end to make sure the cables are going to the right connector pin. Also, that 10 pin cable is not as well shielded as the one in the first link. Route the cable behind the motherboard tray as much as possible.

Thanks JohnnyLucky. There's no pin in one position on the mobo anyway so it won't hurt if the pins and wire are there in the cable.

True. You just need to make sure that you maintain the polarity of the connectors.
