Windows 7 cannot install without driver for CD/DVD drive.
I'm really not sure if I am reading this right or not, but it seems to me that W7 is asking for a driver/firmware for my current disk drive. This one is from 2005 and I don't have the CD, we reused it from the old computer and put it in the one I just built. The model is a Sony DW-D26A. Heres the rest of my specs:
AMD Phenom ii X4 955 Mushkin Enhanced 2x4GB RAM Asus M4A88TD-V EVO OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 6950(do not have right now, using onboard video)
I think that's it. Please any help would be nice.

you should really get a newer dvd drive,do you really want to rely on a 6 year old drive in a new system....you can get a new burner for 20.00 or so dollars.......
That was the reply I was expecting because I'm going to get a new one today in suspicion that the age of the drive was the problem.
and i think i have my answer now, too thanks, teaser
