My external hdd not showing after defragment

I have a usb 500 gb external hard drive named my passport.I defragmented it by tuneup utility.after degragmented it not showing in win.7 & xp both.pleas please help me .

If that is the 2.5 inch drive with the mini-USB connector it is probably a problem with the cord. They are very touchy about the USB cable. I have had two of them go bad on me.

I have heard theories that it is the line voltage through the cable and that the connectors break loose. I don't know which caused mine to go bad but I would not classify them as portable HDDs.

The only good thing is that the mini-USB cables will charge my phone.

Hello, I had the same problem with my WD external hard drive. After I run the defrag with tuneup utility I cannot access it any more. My laptop freezes after I plug the HD into the computer. Did you find any solutions? Please help.
