Conexant audio driver install failure

:bounce:  help>>>>>>> i just reformatted my hard drive did a fresh install of windows xp now my computer says ; "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly." WTF? my laptop is an hp dv1049cl it worked before? why not now????? when i go to device manager it says no device found.... i have downloaded the driver and tryed to install it but at the end it says failure? i tryed from the hp web site "automaticly" no go. some one please help me :pt1cable:

SUCCESS!!!!!!!! THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH. i been messin with this for 2 days.... i even got my hammer out (but didnt use it)
