Playing HD Videos (nvidia) Tags: Nvidia Video Graphics Last response: July 11, 2009 8:03 PM in Graphics & Displays Share wutang4life360 July 3, 2009 7:07:51 PM hi, new to the forum. hope you guys can help me out here. a couple of weeks ago i downloaded some movie trailers in HD (1280X720 .mov format) quicktime. when i tried to play them my display i would get no video but the sound was good. so my friends told me to get a new Graphics card, got the nvidia geforce 8400 gs. now my videos play but now.... they play in slowmotion, once again, the sound is good when i play a wmvHD video, they play great! problem seems to be with the .mov format. what could be the problem, i tried messing with the settings in the nvidia control panel, nothing. downloaded the latest driver for the nvidia card, still. i even downloaded the k-lite codecs. i also tried different players VLC,KMP,WMP,POWERDVD.... nothing. still in slowmotion. can someone help me? does someone know the proper settings? or is it something else? here are my PC specs: HP Pavillon 061 Microsoft XP Home (5.1,build 2600) BIOS Version: 3.21 Processor: Intel(R),Celeron(R) CPU 2.70GHZ Meomory: 1014MB DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS 512MB Driver Version: 6.14.0011.86 Date: 6-10-09 here are the specs i need to run HD videos according to microsoft: Minimum Configuration (to play 720p video) Windows XP Windows Media Player 9 Series 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent 384 MB of RAM 64 MB video card DVD drive 1024 x 768 screen resolution any help would be great thank you for your time wutang4life P.E.A.C.E. Get the answer wutang4life360 July 7, 2009 9:32:55 PM thanks for the reply.. i dont know much about all these computer specs and stuff... but howcome, i can play wmvHD Videos in 720p just fine.... but not the .mov HD Videos? it doesnt make sense...my pc perfers one format over another?? even if i download quicktime player, still in slowmotion. funny thing is... before i bought the nvidia 8400, i could play the .mov files, just fine.. and back then it couldnt play wmvHD, so now its the oppsite... very frustrating! thats why im sure its a setting i need to do... does anyone else have a possible solution?? wutang4life360 July 11, 2009 8:03:19 PM anyone?
