I want to overclock my i7 950 to 4+ ghz and i was wondering what would be the best cooler / thermal paste (preferably air cooling)
also any tips of the actual overclocking process would be nice. THanks

i have a i7 950 but currently have it OCed to 3.83. i use artic mx-4 and its a very nice paste. most pastes do about the same. might be a few degrees lower or higher. nothing to get excited about but so many variables cause those little differences. i used the mx3 and the mx4 is slightly better in my opinion. the new corsair cooler seems nice if you are just cooling your processor. its the h70 thats the newest. im using and apogee gtz block on my 950, got my 6950 liquid cooled as well. im using an mcp655 and a 4 fan rad in my setup.

oh i forgot to mention that i would go with liquid if you want to pass the 4ghz mark. yes it can be achieved on air, but with the highest priced air cooler ive seem, well look at this link and see where the corsair liquid cooler stands. liquid will keep it cooler than those air coolers.

I have i7 920, OC up to 4 Ghz, temperatures are 35 idle and 75 with Prime95. I have Cooler Master V-10 TEC(Air Cooler with TEC electronic).
