Recovery disk creation problem

i bought a new hp laptop
and i started to make a recovery disks but when it collecting data it recieved 50% and then stopped and give me the following screen

canceling in progress

recovery disk creation will resume where you left off in this process the next time you start the program



any help please

I always had issues with their terrible software for burning the recovery discs. My advice would be to go into safe mode by hitting F8 when the computer restarts and burning the discs in there. This worked for me.
