Will my PSU run an ATI 4870X2?

Since the 4870x2 requires one 6-pin and another 8-pin PCI-e connector, will this PSU work? It has what the specs call an "8 Pin EPS Connector", so will that work with the ATI 4870X2? Also, is there anything specific about the PCI-e slot that the 4870X2 requires?

The 8 pin eps connctor is intended for the motherboard, not the vga card. It is keyed so you can't plug it in elsewhere.

You will probably get a 6 pin to 8 pin pcie adapter with the 4870X2 card

Amd wants a 650 watt psu for the card, so in theory, your 700w unit qualifies.

Ultra XVS is a tier 4 unit on this list, so it is not considered that highly:

I know there is 6 pin pcie adapters given, but a 8 pin...? I don't think I ever saw one.

Still, you got 480W of power for the 12V+ rail... you should be alright unless you got 4 Harddrives, 10 fans and 2 players.
