I started having the limited connectivity problem when I went back to college, I can be just surfing and I'll get the limited connectivity on my desktop. I try unplugging the cord and re plugging, nothing happens. The only way to get internet back is by restarting my computer, but that is only temporary and then I have to restart my computer again, and so on and so forth. What can I do? Is it computer? (Although it didn't happen while I was at home)
Thank you for in help given

May be an issue with DHCP when your computer gets its IP from the network it's plug'd into. When it happens does your PC still have an IP (get this by doing Start>Run>CMD>ipconfig)

also from the CMD shell try renewing your IP - "IPCONFIG /RELEASE" and then once thats done, "IPCONFIG /RENEW"

It still has an ip but the "IPCONFIG /RELEASE" then "IPCONFIG /RENEW" does not fix the problem.

So you're only getting this issue at college? do you mean on a college network that is used by all staff/students or as in your private network thats for college acomodation?

yeah, its the network used by the whole school meaning students and others, my roommate used to get that but then it stopped for him.

I am starting to think that it might be my computer because none of the other computers experience it but the question is how do I remedy it?

Well I'd ask the schools IT guys to have a look for you, remember sys admins like beer ;)

after that, driver re-installs, disable/remove any none standard network software
