Hi,

I actually find understanding the working of PC components very very complicated . A question that was bothering me was , let's take an example

Consider if I can play Crysis at 1600x1200 with Medium graphics setting and get decent frame rates, will I be able to touch high quality graphic setting by lowering the resolution to 1440 x 900 and still get decent frame rate. Resolution is the thing that really eats a GPU than the graphics setting, right ? So by lowering resolutions I can touch high quality.

I'm sorry if this question really sounds silly because I've never ever owned a GPU and since I'm buying a new one I just

It depends on the game, usually reducing the strain in one way can allow you to put more strain in another way.

However, simply put, yes you should be able to raise settings through a reduction of resolution.

But in the same time, reduced resolutions(especially at LCD screens) reduces the overall quality of the provided picture,so you'll have to manually balance resolution/graphic settings so that it suits your needs.
