I recently upgraded my windows to xp professional, after
i upgraded i can no longer access the internet, i've
talked to all the "techies" the support lines offer and
nothing seems to work, no matter what i do im getting an
error 720....ive gotten drivers, service packs and even a
new modem to try and solve this problem and nothing is
working, someone plsssss help

note: it is a dial up connection

From what version of Windows did you upgrade. If it was any of the 9x
versions including Millennium, place the XP CD in the drive while at the
Windows desktop, when the setup screen appears, select "Check System
Compatibility." If the system reboots and starts installation after the
check, just keep going until you get to a screen that offers the option to
quit or exit installation, the system will reboot back to XP. The report
generated by the compatibility wizard may point to software or hardware with
which there are issues and might be the source of the problem.
