i was overclocking the E8500 to 3.8 and got it stable, my question is about this PCI frequency, atm its auto, but i did some search and some say it is recommended to put it at 100, and some say no its better to be auto.

now as i know when overclocking the base clock, it overclock's the ram and cpu not sure about the PCI though

here is my specs

P45 asus motherboard P5Q

650 W corsair

E8500 cpu

4 giga ddr 2 ram 1066

GPU 260gtx evga

any recommendation would be appreciated.

Although I tend to minimize the number of AUTO settings, in this case, I do not think that it will make much difference. On AUTO, I doubt if the BIOS will increase the PCI bus speed in response to any other OC settings. But I do not know for certain. I would set it to 100, just to be safe.

Very debatable this one!

Some say it makes no difference so leave it at 100mhz others say it helps stability a little on high overclocks if you set it to 105mhz or 110mhz.

I'm currently running my E8500 at 4.1ghz and have it set to 100mhz without any problems but again there are lots and lots of different factors involved.

Initially I would say set it to 100mhz and try that!
