Hey there was wondering if the V 8 will fit in my CM 690 with both 120 MM fans attached to the sidepanel. Thank you in advance.

i am leaning to the Dark Knight CPU cooler, would that fit in a CM690 ?

Most of the popular HSF's are around the same height.
Pretty sure they're both around 160mm tall.

IMO the V8 isn't worth it. It's a good cooler, but overpriced. A CCF, Mugen 2, or S1283 would perform better then the V8, as well as being much cheaper. If you want all out performance, get a True or Megahalems.

The Coolermaster 690 case is 8.4 inches wide. A 160mm tower style cpu heatsink will fit. You just will not be able to install a 120mm fan in the upper opening on the side panel.

+1 for dropping the V8 - seriously it's not up to scratch for the price when you can get better performance for cheaper.

I have the CM690, it's massive and any cooler will fit, but you may have to remove one of the sidepanel fans (which you probably never needed in the first place.)
