Hi
What I want to know is pretty simple.
I want it the best bang for buck, but at the same time keeping it relatively cheap
(I like the HD4890s though its VERY cheap considering I'm in NZ)
This is my first build, I live in NZ and hardly any help there, SO
here it is

gigabyte ep45-ud3p $330
E8500 $360
ZALMAN 9900 LED $100
GSKILL PI black ddr900 $150
=$940

SAPPHIRE HD4890 $420
SAPPHIRE HD4890 $420
Corsair 750w $230
=$1070

HDD+CD/DVD $150
VISTA $200
LG 22'1080p $340
Antec 600 $220
=$950

TOTAL=$2960NZD

P.S its in NZD and if you want to change anything in the build, please use the following websites
www.playtech.co.nz
www.ifocus.co.nz
www.computerlounge.co.nz
www.pbtech.co.nz

Also my question is if the second card is a "SLAVE" card,
would it be worth it to change the main one to a
XFX HD4890 BLACK EDITION
http://www.playtech.co.nz/product. [...] il&id=7578

I am planning to OC the E8500
As you can clearly see, NZ computer prices are ****ing crazy :pt1cable:  :pt1cable:

Hey i'm from NZ as well and yeah prices are ridiculous.

You could easily save $200 by using Windows 7 RC - which I've been doing for over a month on q9550/9800gx2 rig its its far better than vista.

Also from what I've seen the 4890 offers around 10% fps increase over the 4870 1gb but in NZ costs about 30% more by pricespy so its probably not the most cost effective (but then im about to buy a gtx 295 so what do I know)

yellowsnoman,

The build itself looks good. I wouldn't make any changes. The suggestion I have is this. Buy a plane ticket to California, round trip for like $500-600 probably right now. Then buy this same comp for 1/2 the price and save yourself $1,000....

Ill pay? but I don't want to get scammed either

Niamcd,

Its great that you are enjoying Windows 7 RC so much! There are so many great features and benefits, many of which I am sure you are discovering daily. Just a tip, Microsoft does have a site with whitepapers, tutorials, walkthroughs and screen casts on all the “under the hood” features in Win 7.
